52,000 visitors for “C’est pas classique” in Nice

More than 100 completely free concerts and events highlighted this brand-new edition of “C’est pas Classique.” Organized by the General Council of the Alpes Maritimes in partnership with the City of Nice, it was a true musical marathon that played out over three days.

Launched on Friday, October 31, 2008, starting at 10 a.m. at the Diacosmie in Nice, and then within the walls of the Palais des Congrès (Acropolis), “C’est pas Classique” brought together 52,000 visitors over the three days.
At the peak of the day, one had to be patient: 30 to 60 minutes were needed to access the Palais des Congrès. The success of the event is of course primarily due to the choice of offering it for free, but also to its rich and eclectic programming.

A strong element of this 4th edition, the Niçois Alain Lanceron, CEO of Virgin Classics, had the honor and pleasure of celebrating with internationally renowned artists from his label the 20th anniversary of Virgin Classics. The choice of Nice over Paris to host this event proves that in three years, “C’est pas Classique” has gained national prominence in the field of classical music.

“C’est pas Classique” will, of course, be back next year and will celebrate its 5th anniversary with some surprises.
