The Nice film club Cineasty is hosting a Vampire night on April 9th, starting at 7:40 PM at the Mercury cinema. It’s an opportunity to see or rewatch “Nosferatu, the Vampire” by F.W. Murnau and “Dracula” by Francis Ford Coppola. This themed evening will feature other activities: a conference on vampires in cinema, the election of Miss VAMPIRELLA, and an exhibition of rare vampire movie posters.
Following the successful launch of the Fantastique Semaine du Cinéma (an annual festival dedicated to fantasy films), Les Méduses, a very young association from Nice, launched its own film club on February 12th. Modeled after the Midnight Movies, this new Nice film club called CINEASTY offers a monthly double screening dedicated to genre cinema on Saturdays at the Mercury cinema. Films are presented in their original version with subtitles whenever possible and in 35mm format.
