The efforts made to promote public transportation are bearing fruit. Ridership on the community network, and more specifically on the Nice network, continues to increase.
This is evidenced by the new ridership record set by the Nice Côte d’Azur Tramway! On Wednesday, May 11th, no fewer than 95,963 passengers boarded the Nice trams.
For comparison, the record number of passengers recorded in the first half of 2010 was 82,557 people. Tram ridership increased by 16.5% between the first half of 2010 and 2011.
This figure confirms the policy implemented in the field of public transport to make Nice an exemplary city for Sustainable Development, thanks to the availability of comfortable, economical, and environmentally friendly modes of transportation.
