Citizen and Liberal Association presents its political project

Latest News

The Citizen and Liberal Association, ACL, is organizing a conference on February 9 at 11 AM, at the “Sport eleven” café, 11 Promenade des Anglais in Nice. ACL has been working for a year to propose a new status for elected officials to the nation.

Originating from civil society, founded in 1998 by Gilbert Stellardo and Pierre Panizzoli, ACL possesses the independence and determination to suggest what it considers to be beneficial for our republic.

André Douris, President of ACL: “Our project aims to have a responsible elected official in a sustainable and efficient democracy.

The objective of ACL is to provide the elected official, who represents the citizens, with a quality and authority that will enable them to enhance the efficiency of the state. For this, the elected official must be able to fully dedicate themselves to their role, maintain a legitimacy recognized by all citizens, and remain within the democratic and republican framework of our institutions.

We have interviewed numerous elected officials and citizens, studied practices abroad, and drafted the report of current dysfunctions, expressed almost unanimously by the citizens.”

The content of the project:

– The findings
– The values that elected officials must uphold
– A reminder of basic rules for good republican and democratic functioning, based on our fundamentals: Liberty, equality, fraternity, and human rights, derived from the liberal thought of the Enlightenment philosophers.
– Proposals for new rules regarding the accumulation and renewal of mandates, term duration, and age limits.
– The conditions for the elected official.
