Three possible repairs with good glue

Latest News

A good glue is often an essential tool for household repairs such as a toilet seat, a shoe sole, or even a pair of headphones. However, while buying a suitable glue for a type of repair seems within the reach of the average person, the repair itself requires a little more know-how and technique from its user. Here is an overview of three possible repairs using good glue.

Repairing headphones
Sometimes the wires of headphones wear out over time, or the headset breaks. Yet, there is no need to be an expert in electricity to mend them. Repairing a pair of headphones primarily involves choosing the right glue.

After applying a thin layer of glue to the broken piece in question, bring the two separated parts together. Thus, the headphones will return to their original state in a few seconds. By following this technique to repair headphone wires, you will be able to fix all kinds of cables and enjoy your headphones again.

Reattaching a shoe sole
Who hasn’t experienced the inconvenience of a detached sole at least once in their life? Especially when they are your favorite pairs of shoes. Although there are green tips for reattaching a sole, a quality glue is effective in sticking the shoe’s two surfaces back together. Not to mention, the glue remains transparent and does not cause any discoloration on the shoe in question.

By ensuring that the two surfaces are free of dirt, apply a layer of glue to one of the shoe parts. Then, by firmly pressing the two parts of the shoe together, they will be held together. A drying time is highly recommended, up to a maximum of 2 hours. But for guaranteed results, the ideal is to wait until the next day to wear your favorite pair of shoes. A new day with a new pair of shoes awaits you!

Fixing a glass pitcher
There are waterproof glues to repair objects containing water, such as a glass or a pitcher. Indeed, this type of glue, due to its strength, withstands the various washing stages in the dishwasher. Despite temperature variations, the glass does not give way.

The first step is to clean the surface carefully, then dry it thoroughly. Then, by applying a few drops of glue to one of the two parts to be glued, the pitcher will regain a second life in the kitchen. Like the shoe sole, it is advisable to wait 1 to 2 hours before putting water back in the pitcher. However, to ensure the gluing job, it is best to wait until the next day, so the pitcher feels like new.
