“Tattooing as an artistic form on the human body which becomes a canvas” is not only the recently given definition at the Venice Biennale but also the main theme of the Convention.
The masters of ink are meeting in Sanremo from December 14th to 16th for the fifth edition of the “Sanremo Tattoo Convention.” This year again, the three most anticipated days for tattoo enthusiasts, as well as many curious visitors, will take place at the Palafiori, which will host more than a hundred stands dedicated to Italian and international tattoo artists.
In line with tradition, contests dedicated to music and especially to art will be held alongside the event. “Tattooing as an artistic form on the human body which becomes a canvas” is not only the recently given definition at the Venice Biennale but also the main theme of the Convention.
To add a touch that’s even more Sanremese to the event, there will be two artists from the city of flowers: the painter Marta Laveneziana will create a theme inspired by artistic geometries both on traditional canvases and on the body, “transformed” for the occasion into a living canvas, by photographer Chiara Mazzocchi, who will bring to life a performance based on improvisation. Inspired by the same theme, sculptures, paintings, and photographs celebrating the body will also be exhibited.
The convention, this year as well, will be an opportunity to see the greatest tattoo artists at work, but also to get tattooed by your favorite. Reservations can be made on our Facebook page or directly at the convention.
