Opposed to Eric Ciotti, Nice elected officials leave the LR party

Latest News

This Monday, December 6th, fifteen LR elected officials, members of Christian Estrosi’s majority, from the metropolitan area or the Alpes-Maritimes department, announced their departure from the party.

They justify their departure by the fear of “dishonoring themselves,” in light of the evolution of the Les Républicains party, under the influence of Eric Ciotti.

Among these officials are Anthony Borré, the first deputy mayor of Nice and several other deputies, as well as Pierre-Paul Leonelli, vice-president of the Nice Côte d’Azur metropolis.

Le Figaro reveals that 250 other Nice-based Les Républicains members have declared they are leaving the party.

Christian Estrosi paved the way last May when he also left Les Républicains due to its “drifts.” He recently stated during the announcement of his alliance with Edouard Philippe that there is no longer any distinction between the LR party and Eric Zemmour. “They have the same words, the same speeches,” he added.
