Line 3 of the tram, here we go! The project exhibition at the MNS

Latest News

We are anxiously awaiting the completion of the work on line 2 of the metro-tramway, expected by the end of 2019, which will accelerate the mobility process in Nice and its region. Today, the situation is quite similar to the worst examples of Middle Eastern cities where the absence of roadways is accompanied by the indiscipline and incivility of its inhabitants, resulting in chaotic traffic and travel times that penalize tourism and business activities.

However, another project is already on the horizon, also welcome: line 3, which will take us from the airport to Saint-Isidore, passing through Nice Meridia, the Allianz Riviera, and the Sports Museum.

The route will overlap in part (up to the Digue des Français) with line 2, and then continue along the 40-meter road (Simone Veil Avenue).

In total, the additional kilometers will be 7, with the new line also including 11 stations (5 of which are shared with line 2).

Completion time? Thanks to the continuity between the construction of line 2 and the future construction of line 3, the schedule anticipates the launch by the end of 2019, at the same time as line 2 reaches the port.

A contest to choose the names of future stations is being launched for the residents of the Saint-Isidore neighborhood in the form of a bulletin and online for all those who would like to participate.

The project of developing the territory with gentle mobility will thus add a new element to its structure, which will be completed by extending line 2 westward to reach Saint-Laurent and Cagnes; towards the hinterland with a connection to the regional Pignes train.

City Center to Saint-Isidore in 33 minutes—who would have ever thought? We are ready to pop the champagne!
