2017 Decoration Trends: Indoor Plants, Cactus Craze

Latest News

The return of indoor plant styling has been a trend for a few years already: associated with the color green and materials such as rattan and wicker, plants are essential elements of the tropical style.

Personally, I have a great fondness for cacti and other succulents in general. Probably because I don’t have a green thumb and these plants are the only ones that satisfy me. Cacti require little maintenance. Water once a month, a bit of fertilizer, sunlight, and they will delight with spectacular and lasting embellishments.

In 2016, cacti invaded interiors and terraces to then become one of the favorite topics of interior decoration. In the history of design, these plants have already inspired many designers and each piece has become an icon, like the cactus hanger by Gufram designed by Guido Drocco and Franco Mello in 1972. But more than ever, the cactus motif is found everywhere, from wallpapers to textiles, from silverware to prints.

How to place a cactus indoors to create one or more stylish green corners?

First, cacti are “social” plants that like to stay grouped. Unless you want a huge Mexican Saguaro or a majestic Peruvian Cereus, which can also stand alone, choose various species of cacti to create compositions on the floor, on window sills, on tables, to harmonize with the style of the room as shown in the selected examples.

Plants in abundance, but not only. To decorate your home, there are plenty of products available.
