Yesterday, Brigitte Isnart, founder and President of the Association “Les Premières de Cordée Méditerranéenne,” received the insignia of the National Order of Merit.
Brigitte Isnart, who grew up in Vésubie, is a notable figure of the valley. Following a breast cancer diagnosis, she committed herself to supporting women and children in facing life’s challenges. She founded the association “Les Premières de Cordée Méditerranéenne,” which multiplies initiatives to empower women with confidence in their battle against illness and offers activities to give them hope. The association organizes numerous trips, such as the one that allowed a group of fifteen women to attend the start of the Vendée Globe, alongside the sailor Jean-Pierre Dick. On the occasion of this medal ceremony, the Republic rewards commitment and solidarity towards those affected by cancer.
An Emotionally Rich Ceremony
Amidst the speeches, the testimony of Pauline, a patient who regained hope thanks to the association, deeply moved Brigitte Isnart in front of the audience. She took the opportunity to speak about the importance of breast cancer screening. “In 2023, there were over 61,000 new cases and 12,000 deaths,” she declared. She thus emphasized the importance of screening, as well as the significance of physical and psychological care.
In addressing this disease, she affirmed that “volunteering is essential; it needs to be encouraged, thanked, and respected.” It is, therefore, with such altruism that Brigitte was naturally deemed worthy of the insignia of the National Order of Merit.
