For the sixth Grand Prix of the season, the two MotoGP riders from the French Riviera start on the Catalonia circuit in Spain.
Despite the respectable ninth place of Fabio Quartararo, Johann Zarco finished the race just outside the points. Fabio Quartararo had a mixed start to the weekend, placing 17th on the starting grid. As for Johann Zarco, unlike the previous weekend, he did not manage to get past Q2 and placed 18th. Fabio Quartararo made a good start, moving up to 13th position. For Johann Zarco, things didn’t go as planned; he fell to 20th place at the start.
Unfortunately for Zarco, the race in Catalonia was not favorable, as he couldn’t climb back through the pack. After Pedro Acosta’s crash on the 13th lap, the French riders each gained a position. After losing a place, Fabio Quartararo clawed back three places and moved up to 10th position.
As for Johann Zarco, after Morbidelli’s crash in turn 10, he managed to position himself in 17th place. Three laps from the finish, Fabio Quartararo was overtaken by Marco Bezzecchi and dropped to 12th position. The race concluded with a victory for Francesco Bagnaia, followed by Jorge Martin, and Marc Márquez in third place. Fabio Quartararo finished in 9th position after Bastianini was penalized with two long laps. Zarco ended the race in 16th position.
