A review conference, bringing together the actors of the 2024 season of CDOS 06 activities, was held last week at the National Sports Museum. With a particular focus on the Olympic Days and the Sports Caravan.

Amid warm thanks, this review was hosted last week at the National Sports Museum. Described as a “very great vintage” by President Philippe Manassero of the Departmental Olympic and Sports Committee of the Alpes-Maritimes (CDOS 06). It looked back on the Olympic Days and the 23rd edition of the Sports Caravan. With the help of around thirty volunteers, the Sports Caravan reached its record participation rate. With 7,038 participants, this was more than 11% higher compared to previous years.

Olympic Days 2024

A positive review was presented by the president of the CDOS 06 around the Olympic Days. These were organized as part of the arrival of the Olympic flame for the Paris 2024 Games.

It was in the three cities of Valberg, Drap, and La Trinité that school children were welcomed. On this occasion, 1,110 participants were able to witness the passing of the Olympic flame and participate in sports workshops.

The 23rd Edition of the Sports Caravan

Denis Manassero, president of the Sports Caravan and Logistics commission, presented the key figures for this 23rd edition. The Sports Caravan offers children the opportunity to gather for free. It included 21 summer stages and five spring stages.

This year, the caravan traveled no less than 1,838 km. CDOS 06 offered children 15 sports activities including curling. Citizenship and health actions, including a road safety course with the FFST, were also proposed. The majority of children were aged between 4 to 8 years with almost reached parity (57% boys and 43% girls).

CDOS 06 also aligns with solidarity actions. By bringing 40 children who could not go on vacation to one of the stages, the committee once again shows its desire to improve social inclusion.
