Tax Declaration: Taxpayers in the Alpes-Maritimes have until May 22

The annual income tax return campaign begins this Thursday, April 10. In the Alpes-Maritimes, the deadline for completing the form online is set for Thursday, May 22.

As of April 10, residents of the Alpes-Maritimes can fill out their income tax return on the impotgouv website. This concerns all amounts received in 2024. Expenses, pensions, property income, or salaries… each element must be checked before submission. Even if the form is pre-filled thanks to automatic data exchanges, it is still the taxpayer’s responsibility to correct any errors.

The declaration is mandatory for all French tax residents. It is also required for those who had no income in 2024. In case of non-declaration, penalties may be applied.

For the Alpes-Maritimes, the deadline for online declaration is set for Thursday, May 22, 2025. Those who choose to submit their declaration in paper format must do so by Tuesday, May 20, at the latest.

Paper declarations to be sent by mail until April 24

The online declaration service has been open since April 10. Automated electronic declarations are accessible on the same date. Paper forms have begun to be sent by mail since March 28. The mail-out will extend until April 24.

This year, a new development might disrupt some users. People who received a paper declaration in 2024 but ultimately declared online will no longer receive it. The Solidaires Finances Publiques union is concerned about a possible influx at service centers.

“A large number of users risk being disoriented not to receive their paper declaration and may move en masse to our service centers, whether they are phone-based or physical,” the union states, also raising concerns about the lack of staff to meet this demand.

A paper version is still available upon request.

Online services remain accessible 24/7 until the deadline. It is advisable not to wait until the last moment to pay your taxes to avoid last-minute errors or blockages.
