From June 9 to 13, 2025, the city of Nice will host the 3rd United Nations Conference on the Ocean. More than 100 heads of state and 15,000 participants are expected. A call for volunteers is being launched to assist with this international event.

Nice is preparing for a significant occasion by hosting the United Nations Conference on the Ocean (UNOC 2025). This event will take place in the month of June and will gather numerous political leaders, scientists, and associations from around the world.

For five days, discussions will focus on the protection of the marine environment. The objective is to reach a common agreement project to better preserve the oceans.

The conference will engage the entire city. Key events, open to the public, will also be organized alongside the official discussions.

To host this event, the city of Nice is launching a volunteer recruitment campaign. Various profiles are being sought. The proposed tasks range from welcoming the public to assisting delegations, as well as providing guidance or specific assistance for people with disabilities.

Volunteers will have more than 1,000 tasks to carry out. The mobilization period extends from June 2 to 14, 2025. A good command of English is required for certain roles. Being of legal age is mandatory, and a commitment spanning several days will be preferred.

“It’s a unique opportunity to experience the event from the inside, to meet committed individuals, and to contribute to a cause that concerns us all,” the organizers explain.
