The Alpes-Maritimes Committee of the League Against Cancer is turning an important page in its history. Gérard Van Den Bulcke, General Director for 18 years, is preparing to step down from his position. The announcement was made this week by the departmental committee.

His departure marks the end of a long commitment to people affected by the disease. For nearly two decades, Gérard Van Den Bulcke has supported the development of the Committee and the implementation of its activities in the Alpes-Maritimes.

“Mr. Van Den Bulcke has left an indelible mark on the history of our association thanks to his exceptional commitment. His work has been essential to the development of our Committee and the implementation of our actions in favor of patients and their supporting loved ones in our department,” notes the A-M Committee.

A shared recognition

The General Director’s departure was acknowledged by the Committee’s volunteer President, Laurence Cressin-Bensa, as well as by the members of the Board of Directors.

In a joint message, they pay tribute to him: “He has left his mark on the history of our wonderful association through his strong commitment, which has contributed significantly to the development of our Committee and our actions for the benefit of patients and their supporting loved ones in our department. We thank him warmly for everything he has brought to our Committee.”

Gérard Van Den Bulcke is leaving his position after a career guided by solidarity and fieldwork. The Committee will now have to continue its missions under new leadership. No name has been announced yet to succeed him.

The League Against Cancer of Alpes-Maritimes will continue its work with patients, relatives, and the general public, relying on the foundations built over the years.
