ZLAN 2025: The Nice native Lockness eliminated from the final four after correction, end of a bittersweet dream

The ZLAN 2025 ended with a dramatic twist: Lockness, the Nice-based player and two-time defending champion, and his partner KennyStream, initially announced among the top four teams, were eliminated from the final four following a technical incident during the tournament.

Hailing from Nice, Alexandre “Lockness06” Noto was one of the headliners of this ZLAN. With two consecutive victories in 2023 and 2024, he was aiming for a historic treble alongside Kenny, the 2021 edition winner. The duo showcased their consistency throughout the tournament. They had initially secured their place in the final four. However, a technical bug upset the arrangement.

An API bug deprives Lockness of the final four

A remake of the Mini Royale game had to be organized following an incident in the middle of the match. The problem was that the game’s API kept the scores from the shortened match and added them to those of the replayed round, skewing the total points. It was only after a manual recount conducted overnight that the error was detected.

Result: Kenny and Lockness were downgraded, and it is ultimately JimmyBoyyy and MartinPonk who legitimately access the final four. The announcement was made official in a ZLAN statement, which apologized to the players and their communities, citing a need for transparency and fairness.

A hard blow for the Nice-based structure

For Lockness, this late disqualification is a hard blow. But for the people from Nice, his community remains proud of his journey. A double winner, representative of the South, Lockness continues to make his mark on the French multigaming scene. This underperformance does not erase his achievements and even heightens the anticipation of a possible return in 2026, sharper than ever.

Final results of the ZLAN 2025: Nykho joins Lockness at the top

The ZLAN 2025 crowned Cyqop and Nykho, who were impressively masterful throughout the tournament. With this victory, Nykho joins Lockness with two titles to his name, a record now shared.

The official podium for this edition is:

  • 1st place: Cyqop & Nykho
  • 2nd place: Fumi & Skies
  • 3rd place: Yikhd & Geets
  • 4th place: JimmyBoyyy & MartinPonk (called up after rectification)

The ZLAN 2025 will be remembered for its high level of play, but also for this controversial outcome. One thing is certain: the legend of Lockness, the Nice-based player, does not end here.
