American Airlines launches a new route between Nice and Philadelphia. Starting in May 2024, travelers will be able to take this route daily.
From Nice airport, the United States is just a flight away. The list of destinations to the States continues to grow. American Airlines has just announced a new destination: Philadelphia. The largest city in Pennsylvania will be accessible from Nice starting in May 2024.
In total, three European cities are involved in these new direct flights: Copenhagen, the capital of Denmark, Naples in Italy, and Nice. American airlines continue their expansion in Europe. After New York, Atlanta, and Miami, it is now Philadelphia’s turn to appear on the screens of Nice’s airport, thereby improving its connectivity.
“We are working to ensure that more customers do not necessarily mean more planes and, in any case, that it means as few CO2 emissions as possible“, stated Franck Goldnadel, Chairman of the Board of Aéroports Côte d’Azur, before the start of the summer season.
You can book your flight starting August 20, nearly nine months in advance. The Nice-Philadelphia route will open on May 6, 2024, with daily direct flights. This allows you to already plan your next summer vacation. The flights will be operated by a Boeing 787-9. As for Naples and Copenhagen, you will need to wait for the 5th and 6th of June 2024, respectively.
The Glamour of the Côte d’Azur Connected to Philly, the City of Brotherly Love
American Airlines presents this new destination to its customers as “the gateway to the glamour of the Côte d’Azur“. They add: “Flights will start in time for customers to be dazzled by the bright lights of Cannes”. This new route represents a major tourist and economic advantage for the Côte d’Azur. In 2022, 12.12 million passengers passed through Nice.
For the residents of the Côte d’Azur, this route is an opportunity to reach Philadelphia directly, without a stopover. “40% of airport users are residents of the Côte d’Azur”, Franck Goldnadel noted last May.
Nicknamed Philly, the city halfway between New York and Washington DC is known to be an important cultural, artistic, and musical center. “The City of Brotherly Love” is also known for its rich history. Indeed, it has the highest number of historical monuments per km2 in the United States.
