What is a fish sculpture doing at a garden festival?

Made of hay with a metal and wire mesh frame, the sculpture measures 10 meters long and 2.60 meters wide. The head of the fish alone weighs 200 kg!
Cristian Burger, a sculptor, was looking for an artistic discipline for the summer season that could be similar to snow sculpture in winter. Thus, for three years, he created monumental sculptures made of hay and straw in Valloire, then organized an international hay and straw sculpture competition in Valloire in 2013.
To create this giant fish, Cristian Burger worked with Philippe Minier, a sculptor in wood, stone, ice, and snow, Anaïs Longchamp, a designer and illustrator, and Lucile Gras, a sculptress.
