A trip is planned in advance, but sometimes it’s better to book at the last minute to find the best deals and have the chance to take a break at a dream destination. No matter how much time you have, there is certainly an opportunity to seize.
If you have ideas for going on vacation in August, you can check the last-minute prices of flights, trains, or even buses. Prices can be interesting at the last moment because airlines are looking to dispose of unsold seats a few hours before departure. However, this requires one condition: being flexible with the destination. Be careful, though, this kind of offer is rarely available in high season.
Dream destinations!
Europe contains cities full of culture and rich in history. Our neighboring country, Spain, if you’re visiting Barcelona for the first time, a list of the best things to do in Barcelona will allow you to enjoy all that the city has to offer! If you like Nordic countries, Oslo is the ideal destination; the capital of Norway, it’s perfect for your trip in August. Moreover, the days are long, and the sun doesn’t set before 10 PM. As well as other neighboring countries like Poland, the Czech Republic, Italy, etc.
But many other destinations are available at the last minute, such as a safari in Kenya. Or even the beauty of the terraced rice fields in Ifugao Province, Philippines. Or an ideal destination for marine enthusiasts, Malaysia, where you will find diverse marine life including reef sharks, giant turtles, and colorful coral reefs.
Some tips before traveling
If you’re traveling in Europe, the European Health Insurance Card (EHIC) is blue and gray on a starry background and is the size of a credit card. It allows you to receive medical care during stays (vacations, for professional reasons, etc.) in all European Union countries. It is valid for two years; this card is personal and individual, meaning each family member must have their own. It guarantees you direct access to the public health system in another European country without prior procedures. You will receive the same treatment as those insured in the host country.
Check the validity of your National Identity Card (CNI). If you don’t have time to renew your card, French authorities recommend prioritizing a valid passport over an identity card with an expired date.
Pack your suitcase well! You’re used to preparing for vacations. But no matter what, there’s always the fear of forgetting something, especially what you need to pack at the last minute because it’s needed at home until the last moment.
To not forget anything, we advise you to make a small list of essentials for your trip. Don’t forget your identity card, passport, and/or driver’s license, a travel guide, your phone to capture your best moments in photos, along with the charger. Let the beautiful views dazzle you, but not the sun! Glasses, lenses, and serum should be in your suitcase. A small toiletry bag to take with you, with moisturizer, a toothbrush, lip balm, etc. And a little pharmacy kit just in case.
Now you are finally ready to embark on an adventure for this beautiful month of August!
