The Alpes-Maritimes Department and SMIAGE launch a bulletin to monitor the state of water resources in real-time. This tool helps anticipate droughts and floods thanks to data accessible to everyone.
The Alpes-Maritimes Department and the Maralpine SMIAGE are launching an information tool on the state of water resources. This bulletin, published on the occasion of World Water Day, provides updated data accessible to all.
On Friday, March 22, 2025, Charles Ange Ginésy, President of the Alpes-Maritimes Department and SMIAGE, presented the first Water Weather Bulletin. This document is part of the departmental Water Observatory. It centralizes data on rainfall, river levels, groundwater levels, and monitoring of aquatic biodiversity.
Accessible via the platform InfoEau06, this bulletin provides real-time updated information. It allows for better anticipation of drought or flood phenomena, thereby facilitating the management of water resources.
An approach integrated into SMART Deal and GREEN Deal policies
In the context of climate change, water management becomes a major challenge. The Department and SMIAGE integrate this bulletin into their SMART Deal and GREEN Deal strategies. This approach combines technology and ecological transition for more efficient resource use.
Charles Ange Ginésy explains: “Water is our blue gold. With this bulletin, we move from reaction to preventive action. It is a major advance to protect our ecosystems and ensure access to water for everyone.”
This tool complements actions carried out within the framework of the Partnership Chair “Water in the territories of the Alpes-Maritimes”. It contributes to better anticipation of future challenges related to water.
The water weather bulletin is part of a preservation and adaptation approach. It allows local stakeholders and citizens to better understand the evolution of resources and adopt responsible practices.
