AnimaWings opens a regular route between Nice and the Romanian capital. A new travel option for tourists and business travelers, starting this April 17.
Since Thursday, April 17, 2025, Nice Côte d’Azur airport offers a new direct connection to Bucharest, operated by the Romanian airline AnimaWings. This airline route will be operated twice a week, on Thursdays and Sundays, until October 23. In April, only the Thursday flight is maintained.
Passengers will board an Airbus A220-300. The aircraft has 137 seats, including 12 in business class. Tickets are available starting from 85 euros, depending on the period and options selected. They are available for booking on the airline’s website.
The flight is non-stop. It directly connects the Côte d’Azur to Bucharest, the cultural, economic, and political center of Romania. It lands at Terminal 1 of the Nice airport, from where travelers can easily reach local destinations like Cannes, Monaco, or Menton.
A flight without a passport and designed for all profiles
This new service is part of AnimaWings’ expansion strategy in the French market, after Paris in March. Since January 1, 2025, travelers no longer need a passport to travel to Romania. A simple ID card is sufficient thanks to the country’s entry into the Schengen area.
“Nice is a highly sought-after destination for business travelers, but also for tourists,” explains Marius Pandel, Chairman of the Board at AnimaWings. “Our flights are scheduled on Thursdays and Sundays. Thus, whether they travel for business reasons, a city getaway, or holidays on the Côte d’Azur or in Provence, passengers benefit from great flexibility.”
The airline offers several levels of comfort. In addition to business class with onboard services and meals by chef Alex Petricean, three formulas are offered in economy class, with or without checked baggage, and with priority options.
For Franck Goldnadel, Chairman of the Board at Aéroports de la Côte d’Azur, this route opens “a new gateway between the Côte d’Azur and the economic and cultural center of Romania.”
The Nice–Bucharest route thus complements the summer offer of the airport and strengthens the air links with Eastern Europe.
