An action plan for equality and the fight against discrimination

Latest News

It is on this Thursday, December 15, that the public policies of the City of Nice present the 2022-2026 action plan. An action plan that extends the fight against discrimination in everyday life.

For several years, the City of Nice has been committed to combating discrimination in all its forms. With the support of its CCAS and the Nice Côte d’Azur Metropolis, the city has promoted women’s rights both among its staff and in everyday policies.

  • On March 8, 2020, the City of Nice signed the European Charter for Equality of Women and Men in Local Life. It thus became one of the first cities to make this significant gesture.
  • Christian Estrosi founded in 2014 a delegation for women’s rights, parity, and the fight against discrimination entrusted to his Deputy Maty Diouf.
  • This delegation carried out a Multi-Annual Action Plan between 2016 and 2020, which presented the actions undertaken and to be implemented during the mandate.

Renewal of the Action Plan for Combating Discrimination

The second action plan has thus been presented and will extend from 2022 to 2026. It aims to:

  • Introduce a lever for “better living together”
  • Promote synergies and enhance all initiatives in the area of equality
  • Lead in collaboration with the services of the City of Nice, the Communal Center for Social Action, and the Nice Côte d’Azur Metropolis, an inclusive work environment in favor of gender equality and to fight against all forms of discrimination.

It has already led to many actions, including:

  • The implementation of partnership actions such as study days with Université Côte d’Azur
  • The creation and distribution to the people of Nice of the Barometer on Intimate Partner Violence
  • The promotion of female entrepreneurship, notably through a partnership with the Women Business Leaders Network
