MONDAY, NOVEMBER 22 AT THE SITE OF THE IUT NICE COTE D’AZUR
At the initiative of the Observatoire du Pain, supported by the Ministry of Food, Agriculture, and Fisheries, and in partnership with the National Union of Local Student Mutuals (USEM), a nationwide campaign will raise awareness among student populations about the consumption of traditional French bread on around ten university campuses across France.
44% of students skip breakfast during the week and 34% during the weekend. This large-scale operation, the first of its kind, will therefore provide an opportunity to rehabilitate this eating occasion: a breakfast based on traditional French bread, focusing on pleasure and balance.
Activities led by teams from the local student mutuals will remind participants of the importance of breakfast in a balanced diet and will explain the benefits of traditional French bread for a balanced and flavorful breakfast. Representatives from the milling and bakery sectors will also showcase the diversity of their products, emphasizing that breakfast, an essential meal for nutritional balance, is also synonymous with gustatory pleasure.
