August 19, 20, 21, and 22, 2011 in Biot – Historic Center
Once a year, the Patronal Festival of Biot offers families from Biot and visitors to our region the opportunity to share convivial moments in a summery atmosphere.
Workshops and traditional games for children, pétanque and square boules competitions, a cycling race, procession, performances, dances, and musical entertainment will fill these four festive days, entertaining both young and old.
The European Square Boules Competition organized on the cobblestone streets of the historic center and the three nights of festivities (theater, dance, and musical tale) will mark the highlights of this event.
Monday will undoubtedly be the children’s day with the famous Roumpa Pignata, sack race, and the unprecedented Disco Party.

Its famous medley of Italian marches and tarantellas, its versions of “La pissaladière” or “Viven toujou en mountagno” – performed in gavot, the Niçois dialect still spoken in our valleys – have become standards, regularly celebrated at summer dances in the high and middle country.
With its singer, its singer, its five musician choristers, and a conductor with more than 40 seasons of popular dance to his credit, the experience and good humor reigning on stage will quickly be communicative.

Alternating tales and songs, in French and Occitan, to the
sound of guitar, galoubet, and tambourine, this poetic repertoire
will lead you on a true journey along the
Paths of Provence.
In terms of tales, we will get to know colorful characters:
Pierrot and his donkey, Mathieu, transformed into a butterfly after diving into the waters of a lake,
or the beautiful Mourette in love with a handsome boy from
Old Nice…
In songs, traditional regional music standards revisited, while retaining the authenticity of the texts.
Others in French speaking of cicadas, cabin and
aioli…
As a modern-day troubadour, Jean-Michel Mayer
invites you to a true journey in the land of Provence.
