Quentin Tarantino’s new film, Django Unchained, was released in cinemas on December 25, 2012, in the United States. In just over a month, it has become the director’s biggest success with already 146 million dollars at the American box office.
Django Unchained is now the most successful film in Tarantino’s career. It has grossed, one month after its American release, 146 million dollars at the box office. That’s more than his previous film, Inglourious Basterds, which only accumulated 120 million. The reviews are unanimous; it’s also the director’s best film.
A more modest success in France
On the other side of the Atlantic, the success is equally resounding. Released in our cinemas on January 16, the film has so far drawn about 1,200,000 viewers and ranks number 1 at the French box office. Django seems well on track on the hexagon to surpass the director’s previous film, which had gathered 2.8 million admissions.
