Wednesday, December 7th at the Pari’mixité premises from 7pm to 9pm.
The film café aims to offer film analyses – accompanied and followed by exchanges of views with the participants – based on excerpts from old or recent films, freeze frames, cuts of shots or sequences whose comparison is enlightening…
– Program of the next film café:
I – Compared extracts from: The Unfaithful Wife by Claude Chabrol – 1968 (with Stéphane Audran, Michel Bouquet, and Maurice Ronet)
With Adrian Lyne’s remake, Unfaithful – 2002 (with Richard Gere, Maria Bello, and Olivier Martinez) or: how, on an identical canvas, the choices of direction, casting, and some small script modifications result in two films of radically different spirits.
II – Excerpts from Private Fears in Public Places by Alain Resnais – 2006 (with André Dussolier, Sabine Azéma, Pierre Arditi, Lambert Wilson, Isabelle Carré, Laura Morante) or: how the representation of space speaks volumes about the characters’ feelings.
III – An emerging filmmaker: Excerpts from La Reine des pommes – 2009 – the first (quirky and hilarious) comedy by Valérie Donzelli, the director of Declaration of War, featuring – already – herself and Jérémie Elkaïm.
