This beautiful project was born from the meeting between the author, Maryline Desbiolles, the Grain de Sable company, and the Ariane neighborhood in Nice.
Reading ‘Aïzan,’ the discussions with the author, and the encounters and testimonies collected from the residents of Ariane by Maryline Desbiolles, led the Grain de Sable company to develop this theatrical adaptation that faithfully retells the story of the novel.
The imaginary world of Aïzan takes to the stage: aerial dance, fluid movements, ropes intertwining and unraveling… Aïzan never touches the ground… except at the end where she finds the thread showing her the path of her existence.
This play benefits from a single public performance at very attractive prices: 7 euros for the full price and 4 euros for the reduced rate (unemployed, Rmistes, students, FNAC and PATHE cardholders, and retirees).
Founded in 1985 by Jacques Laurent, the Grain de Sable company has been focusing for the last ten years on contemporary writing and has been developing its artistic collaborations with directors, choreographers, circus artists, musicians, and writers.
