The IMREDD in Nice hosts on Friday, November 15, starting at 10 a.m., the event “City, New Horizons,” a day dedicated to the evolution of urban spaces. Organized in partnership with France Bleu Azur, this free event invites the public to explore solutions for the cities of tomorrow.
Urban and environmental issues occupy a central place in our society. This Friday, the Mediterranean Institute of Risk, Environment, and Sustainable Development (IMREDD) in Nice offers a day of exchanges around these issues with “City, New Horizons.” The program, developed in partnership with France Bleu Azur, promises to be rich in discoveries and accessible to all, upon registration.
The day revolves around concrete themes with conferences questioning the role and organization of public services in a society with limited resources. Experts will also discuss the adaptation of Mediterranean cities to climate change and water management, a vital but increasingly scarce resource in the region.
Participants can choose to attend all the conferences or select the topics that interest them. The goal is to open the debate on local solutions for a direct impact on urban quality of life.
Innovative Projects for a Sustainable City
Among the projects presented is the future Nice train station near the airport. Designed with an ecological approach, it will include a canopy for shade and a bike station with 500 spaces. This model of infrastructure shows how respecting nature can be integrated into urban planning.
Architects, economists, and other experts will share their vision of the green city. Concrete ideas will be explored to make urban spaces more accessible, greener, and more pleasant for everyone.
With the underlying theme “Climate Change: How to Live Well in the City,” this event aims to inspire a wide audience. Visitors will discover simple solutions to face climate challenges in daily life. This day is a unique opportunity to better understand the challenges and opportunities of contemporary urbanism.
