Civic Service: Unis-Cité is Committed to Nutritional Balance in Neighborhoods!

Latest News

Unis-Cité and the civic service youth organized an activity for dietary balance in the neighborhoods as part of the “Vitaminés” mission.

Since October 14, 2014, Jean Pierre, Claire, Swanny, Marie, Sofiane, Aurore, Sandra, and Christian, 8 young volunteers in Civic Service at Unis-Cité in Nice, have been engaged in Civic Service for the “Vitaminés” mission. Based in the heart of the Moulins and Ariane neighborhoods and East Nice, they have, over the past few months, built trustful relationships with the residents and local stakeholders (schools, associations, sports clubs…)

Their goal? To encourage children aged 6 to 11 and their parents to adopt healthy eating habits and engage in regular physical activity, mainly during snack time, to empower them to take charge of their own health. To achieve this, they implement concrete and participatory actions on the ground throughout the year:

Last Wednesday, they organized a Master Snack in the heart of the Moulins and Ariane neighborhoods.

A festive and positive moment of celebration, the event will gather all the program’s stakeholders (residents, institutional and operational partners, volunteers…) for a major event, a snack-making contest, to promote and highlight the mission of the volunteers and raise awareness among families about the theme of “Better Eating, Moving Well.”

On the agenda: Giant fruity board game, quiz, and fun games with prizes to win, information stand on the Vitaminés program!
