The health crisis has turned into an economic crisis for some, with a lack of cash flow to pay the rent for their apartment.
In response to this issue, the management of the establishment — the largest social landlord in the region — has implemented support and conciliation procedures for over 5,000 tenants who are behind on their payments. Importantly, no legal action has been initiated.
A real support system has been established with individual assistance to create a solvency plan (Housing Solidarity Fund, Housing Action Assistance, or Pension Funds, a repayment plan with a 15-month smoothing for the 200 persistent cases).
Despite all these actions, some tenants have not engaged. It seems ironic, but that’s how it is!
By maintaining their passivity, Côte d’Azur Habitat will be forced to start or reactivate a procedure in court. The goal is not to obtain their eviction but at least to prompt some action. It’s the minimum.
