The number of hospitalized patients has slightly decreased, as has the number of patients in critical care services, but both remain at a high level.
This Thursday, Public Health France recorded 321 new deaths due to Covid-19 and 26,538 infections in the past 24 hours, averaging 26,255 per day over the past week.
In the hospital, 29,487 patients affected by the disease are currently being treated. There were 29,911 on Tuesday, and 30,634 last Thursday. In the past 24 hours, 1,711 new infected patients have been admitted.
This Thursday, 5,804 patients are in critical care (which includes intensive care, critical care, and continuous monitoring), compared to 5,879 on Wednesday and 5,981 last Thursday. Here too, the downward trend seems to be confirmed. At the beginning of the week, the threshold of 6,000 severe cases was crossed.
Vaccination
As of April 29, nearly 21,500,000 injections have been administered, according to the Directorate General of Health. Since the start of the vaccination campaign in France, 15,226,412 people have received at least one injection (representing 22.7% of the total population and 29.0% of the adult population) and 6,256,387 people have received two injections (representing 9.3% of the total population and 11.9% of the adult population), figures that need to be consolidated.
