From the magic of Harry Potter to the rhythms of K-pop, everyone finds their universe in this festival where sharing and wonder are at the heart of the experience.
From the early hours, excitement fills the Palais des Congrès in Nice. PAF 2025 is in full swing, and as soon as you enter, you can feel the vibrant energy of an event where enthusiasts from all walks of life converge. Colorful costumes, K-pop sounds, e-sport tournaments, interactive booths: the audience moves in a real kaleidoscope of cultures.
Among the crowd, Sandrine and her two daughters, regular visitors to the event, savor the unique atmosphere of the festival: “We’ve been coming for two years, and the girls are in paradise. When you see all this mix of cultures, different worlds, it’s simply excellent. It feels like an immersion.”
And the immersion is complete. A few steps away, a booth dedicated to the manga universe attracts the curious, while a bit further, video game tournaments follow one another to the cheers of the spectators.
A magical world for pop culture fans
Paul, a loyal festival-goer and Harry Potter fan, is especially excited this year. “This isn’t the first time I’ve come, but having the wizarding world also featured this year is really beneficial, he confides. I had the chance to meet Harry’s French voice actor this morning. It was an amazing moment, he shared little anecdotes. It was crazy!”
Beside him, other fans gather around the stand dedicated to potions and herbology, while the magical sorting hat brings the dreams of many apprentice wizards to life.
An intergenerational discovery
While PAF 2025 mainly attracts young people, it also knows how to surprise a broader audience. Jeanne, accompanied by her granddaughter Julie, discovers the event with astonishment. “We hadn’t planned on coming because it’s not my age, but it turns out to be fun. There are plenty of activities that wow the children, booths that immerse us in each culture. Even though I haven’t experienced this kind of culture, I find it very nice.”
The journey is both visual and auditory: Japanese traditional music resonates in one corner of the hall, while a DJ hosts a giant K-pop karaoke, gathering an enthusiastic crowd.
Dance, play, share
The Just Dance booth has become an essential gathering point. Sabine, a K-pop dancer, is amazed by the atmosphere there.
“The Just Dance booth is amazing! It allowed me to meet people, to dance. It’s great that it helps us create connections.”
Between challenges on the latest video games, blind tests, and cosplay shows, PAF 2025 proves once again that it is much more than a festival: it is a space where memories are woven and where all facets of pop culture meet.
