EVO France 2025, the first French extension of EVO, will take place in October 2025 in Nice. This highly anticipated event for fighting game fans promises a program full of surprises.

For this 2025 edition, EVO, the world’s largest fighting Esport event, will be heading to Nice. Several competitions will take place featuring various major fighting games. First, the must-haves. Street Fighter 6 and Tekken 8, the giants of the genre, will be the stars of the tournament. Their presence was expected. Each year, these two titles attract the largest number of participants, symbolizing the historical rivalry in the world of fighting games.

In addition to these classics, Guilty Gear: Strive will also be part of the event. Still in its fourth season, this game might take advantage of EVO France to reveal Lucy, a character from the Cyberpunk: Edgerunners universe. A perfect way to conclude this season in style.

Mortal Kombat 1 notably absent from EVO

The program also holds a major surprise: Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves. With a release date set for April 24, 2025, this game will represent the SNK studio. It follows The King of Fighters XV and promises to bring a fresh touch as the newest title in the tournament.

A notable change this year, Mortal Kombat 1 will be absent. Organizers have chosen to make room for Dragon Ball FighterZ. This decision highlights the enduring success of this game within the French audience. French champion Marwan “Wawa” Berthe has notably left his mark on the international scene from 2018 to 2022, associating the French flag with the work of Arc System Works.

The lineup also includes Granblue Fantasy Versus: Rising. This title, developed by the same Japanese studio, remains under the radar but has successfully built a loyal audience. Together with Dragon Ball FighterZ, it strengthens the presence of Arc System Works within the competition.

EVO France 2025 thus promises a grand spectacle for all fighting game enthusiasts. Six games will compete, each bringing its own style and community of players. This first event in France highlights the growing interest in EVO outside the United States.
