Football brought together hundreds of young people from Nice.

Latest News

This Wednesday, young people from disadvantaged neighborhoods in Nice gathered at the Allianz Riviera for the “MoveNowCamp.” The goal was to make them aware of the benefits and values of sport by participating in several football workshops.

Sport is essential for all of us.” These are the words of Jamy Gourmaud, the famous host of “C’est pas sorcier,” who came to support the event and remind everyone of the effects of sports on the body. In total, 200 children gathered at the Allianz Riviera. They all came from disadvantaged neighborhoods like Les Moulins and L’Ariane. This is the 2nd edition of a collaboration between Allianz France and OGC Nice to encourage sports participation among young people supported by associations, such as the “Adam” associative collective, present at the event.

Encouraging the Youth to Support the Upcoming Olympic Games

These children are also the athletes of tomorrow and future competitions. In a year’s time, the Olympic Games will take place in France, and all means are good to promote them. Damien Combredet-Blassel, a member of the Paris 2024 committee and its organization, explains that young people “must be part of this movement, and realize that it may only happen once in a century.” It’s truly a pride to be a host country,” he adds, before allowing the adolescents to enjoy the various fun activities.

Different Technical Workshops on Site

Short matches, speed exercises, passing, and accuracy—many activities were set up by the club and the city. The young people gave their all and seized the opportunity to play on a Ligue 1 pitch. A rather rare moment in life. “When the opportunity arose, we volunteered to bring the young people to have fun,” commented an escort and member of the “Adam” association.
