Yes, it is with deep emotion that we learned of the passing of Mr. Pierre GAZZERA, President of the Council of Seniors since September 2000.
Born in Turin on May 29, 1929, married, father and grandfather to a grandson who was his joy and wonder, Pierre passed away following a stroke that occurred on Monday, December 31, leaving a great void around him. A void that will one day be partially filled by all the happy memories that will come to those who had the great privilege of sharing them with him.
His professional life transitioned from Havas Voyage to Nice Matin, which he often spoke about, and was followed by 27 years of volunteering at the Union Sportive Cannes la Bocca Olympique as Deputy Director of Races and in charge of external relations. He was a creator and then treasurer of Euromédiatisation, an administrator of the Friends of Aunt Victorine, and an administrator and President of the Council of Seniors where he was still faithfully serving on December 24, speaking in Niçois with a smile on his face and a spark in his eyes.
“Pierre could never say no, he was always smiling, I never saw him angry,” his lifelong friend Etienne confided to us. “I can never thank him enough for giving me my chance; he is a man I deeply respect,” wrote Romain, the young multimedia animator who worked with his friend Claudio in the service for seniors who want to learn how to use a computer.
The entire team of the association spaces of the City of Nice is deeply affected by this news, which leaves them orphaned by a man who was present in their daily lives for seven years.
Pierre was a smiling face, a teasing character, always eager to work, just for the pleasure of it.
It is this Thursday at 9:00 AM, at the Port Church, that all will gather one last time around him to pay a final tribute to this endearing, kind, and beloved man by all those who knew him.
The entire team of Nice Premium joins in the grief of his family to whom they offer their most heartfelt condolences.
