The French Individual Gymnastics Championships took place in Reims from January 24th to 26th. The Rhythmic Gymnastics (RG) section of ASPTT Nice Côte d’Azur marked a new milestone in its history by achieving an unprecedented double victory.
The young gymnasts from Nice, Nianci Lu and Uliana Zharko, stood on the highest steps of the podium in the A category for 10-year-olds. With a score of 43,550 points, the young Nianci dominated the competition, closely followed by her teammate Uliana, who became vice-champion with 38,882 points. This triumph marks an achievement in the promising career that these two athletes have in store within the RG section.
ASPTT Nice Côte d’Azur, a Talent Factory
The RG section of ASPTT Nice Côte d’Azur is recognized as the elite of the association. Since its creation in 1920, this multi-sport club has been training talents like Éléonore Caburet, a former member of the French ensemble, and Algara Kochankova, currently at the hope center in Montpellier.
For Céline Girelli, head of the RG section: “Huge double victory! We had a feeling after the results of the previous stages (departmental, inter-departmental, and regional), but this is incredible. During the performances broadcast by the parents, we felt the energy from the applause meter: the room was buzzing. It’s impressive at this level and at this age. The future? Continue to evolve, maintain, and guide our gymnasts towards personalized paths for performance.”

A Noted Performance
Seven athletes from the rhythmic gymnastics section represented ASPTT Nice Côte d’Azur during these championships. Even though Nianci and Uliana made it to the podium, all the participants showed determination and involvement, which allowed the RG section to stand out in the eyes of the public.
The future of the club is filled with hope and confirms its success in training young athletes. Boasting its expertise and the involvement of its technical teams, they will be able to make a difference in the upcoming individual championships in Oyonnax, from May 2nd to 4th, 2025.
