For two months, the Alpes-Maritimes Department is inviting all middle school students from the region to participate in the casting call “I am a work of art.” The goal? To transform into a character from a mythical painting, just for a photo.
Until Friday, March 15, 2024, young students are encouraged to partake in the casting call, where the aim is to photograph themselves by adopting the expression or pose of a character from a famous painting. A list of essential artworks has been selected by the Department, which includes great artists such as Gustave Courbet, Vincent Van Gogh, Amedeo Modigliani, Grant Wood, Leonardo da Vinci, and Andy Warhol.
A unique experience
The ten grand winners of this casting call will be able to participate in a professional photo shoot with the aim of becoming a work of art that celebrates sports and its values on the occasion of the 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games. This artistic and cultural education project is notably supported by the Nice Academy and the DRAC PACA (Regional Directorate of Cultural Affairs Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur).
