The Acropolis Palace in Nice is hosting the Innovative City exhibition for the seventh consecutive year, over the course of two days. This event, dedicated to smart cities, brings together more than 140 exhibitors and nearly 200 conferences to better understand the cities of tomorrow.

From 10 a.m. this Wednesday morning, hundreds of participants were already roaming the aisles of the Innovative City exhibition. The exhibition, which has an international scope, hosts innovative companies showcasing their products at stands of varying sizes. More than a dozen nations are represented to unveil to the public and potential investors sustainable, connected, and innovative technologies to become a “smart city.” International Smart City professionals gather to meet and compare their innovations.

For this 7th edition, one of the key themes is the societal support of citizens. The goal is to include the residents so that they can enjoy a better quality of life in their city. Exhibitors engage in numerous demonstrations, some of which are broadcast on television. The aim is to convince as many people as possible that their technology is the best. Exhibitors are in a kind of competition. Major groups like Orange, EDF, ENGIE, and Panasonic are also participating to promote their innovations.

Christian Estrosi, mayor of Nice and president of the Nice Côte d’Azur Metropolis, visited the site this morning. The mayor also participated in demonstrations and subsequently proceeded to sign the first electricity concession contract signed in France with a metropolis. Thanks to this unique contract for public electricity services, the Metropolis is gradually establishing itself in the Smart City.*
