Jordan Galtier (The Kermesse Festival): “We had to look for other artists.”

Latest News

Jordan Galtier launched the Kermesse Festival in 2022. An event that quickly became a must-attend in the summer event landscape.

The Kermesse Festival returns this year to Nice for an edition full of surprises and new features. From July 4 to July 6, 2025, the Théâtre de Verdure will welcome thousands of festival-goers coming to enjoy three days of music, shows, and conviviality.

Can you tell us about the history and creation of the Kermesse Festival?

“The birth of the Kermesse Festival originated in Nice in 2022, from an original idea of bringing together artists from the 2000s with nostalgia. We had Fatal Bazooka who took the lead on the lineup, and then we thought we should seek out other artists. Based on the success of this event, which initially was just ‘the Kermesse’, we created in Nice, La Seyne-sur-Mer, and Toulouse, three consecutive days of these evenings. And ‘the Kermesse’ became ‘the Kermesse Festival.’”

“It’s a colorful, musical, luminous, festive, family-oriented, happy, and joyful festival. We enjoy coming to the Kermesse, we are excited to have a ticket. When we open our DMs on Instagram or on Facebook, we see people who, at Christmas, are euphoric to receive a ticket for the Kermesse and it warms our hearts.”

What are the main objectives and values of the festival?

“It is a family festival whose values are sharing, moments of conviviality, and the joy of reuniting in this nostalgic atmosphere with current friends or friends from the past. It is a festival whose values are truly centered on the smile and ‘living together’. We are driven by a unique energy. As a festival enthusiast myself, this energy is quite special.”

How do you choose the artists and performances for each edition?

“This is a wonderful question. We bring out the CDs and vinyls from the past that left a mark on us. There are two of us managing the programming with my associate, and I must admit that sometimes he mentions names I don’t know, and vice versa. We have several names in the drawer that we will release at the right time, with artists who we have already contacted.”

Which artists will be present this year?

“For this year, headlining, we have Fatal Bazooka returning for the third consecutive year in Nice. Shy’m will also headline on Saturday night (July 5, 2025). We are very pleased to have her return to our stage. The first night will feature Cascada, who is an electronic phenomenon and a representation of the 2000s.”

How can visitors prepare and make the most of their experience at the festival?

“It is advisable to sign up for the newsletter, which is available on the lakermesse.fr website. Otherwise, we are very active on Instagram and Facebook. Festival-goers can directly purchase a ticket online. In doing so, we will have their email addresses and will be able to send them complete information. Additionally, we have a new friend on the site named ‘Mike’, who is our ChatBot. He answers all questions concerning the Kermesse Festival 24/7.”
