La France Audacieuse takes action

First public meeting in a Nice palace of the political movement led by Christian Estrosi, who was accompanied by a delegation of right and center mayors and elected officials, who boarded this ship after the derailment of LR in the presidential and legislative elections, to make the voice of the territories and citizens heard.

“I have not left my political party, but we have initiated a new political movement, @La_F_Audacieuse, with many mayors to express the voice of the territories. Parties no longer have the vocation to speak on our behalf,” declared Christian Estrosi in his declaration of intent.

The aim of this group is proximity and innovation, the method is the pragmatism of daily action.

Although “La France Audacieuse” is neither in majority nor in opposition, it stands against the extremes and the left that caused so much harm to France over five years, according to the Mayor of Nice, a true “mattatore” of the evening (ably assisted in orchestration by Arnaud Robinet, his young colleague from Reims, another pillar of LFA).

However, it is less clear where it stands in relation to the Les Républicains party, to which all present and absent mayors still belong.

The only thing that became clear is that they do not adhere to its political line nor do they identify with the president and the team recently elected to lead it, on December 10th.

There, we witnessed a scathing declaration: “The divisions are exploding, the political party to which I belong is threatened with balkanization and can no longer be heard,” Christian Estrosi stressed in his concluding speech.

However, the final judgment is pending… “I do not wish to abandon it as long as it [my political family] returns to its fundamentals.”

Furthermore, the audacious want to be “open to dialogue but not complacent” towards the actions of the President of the Republic and his government.

In the meantime, “La France Audacieuse” will establish itself in the political landscape through a tour of France in cities where a mayor is a member, concluding with a national meeting at the end of January in Paris, during which a white paper of proposals will be presented, coordinated by the hyper-energetic Delphine Burkli, mayor of the 9th arrondissement of Paris.

In trying to better understand their objective, one could say that the audacious are betting on the restructuring of the political line in the medium term (after the European elections in 2019?), the “conservative-progressive” divide replacing the “right-left” divide already considerably damaged by the presence of Emmanuel Macron and his marchers, and leveraging their territorial anchoring and expertise in economic development processes (70% of public investments go through investments in the territories) to become a central political force.

This is the essence of the meeting attended by several hundred people (the organization by Christian Estrosi’s staff knows how to do things well and on a large scale), despite the lengthy debate in the form of questions/answers, which were merely a re-proposition of the themes and ideas dear to the Mayor of Nice.
