OGC Nice continues their run of five consecutive matches without defeat in Ligue 1 by winning 2-1 this Sunday afternoon at Nantes. Kasper Dolberg scored a brace, having not scored for five months.
The Niçois, who were on a positive streak and had a significant victory against OM, take advantage of the result in Nantes to move into the top half of the table.
From the start of the match, the Gym launched multiple offensives and in the 10th minute, won a penalty. Thuram entered the penalty area before being brought down by Touré. An undeniable penalty. Dolberg remained calm and opened the scoring in the 11th minute with a low shot.
The 2-0 came in the 29th minute: Lafont struggled to deflect a shot from Thuram at the edge of the penalty area. Dolberg was on the lookout and scored powerfully from a tight angle (29th minute). OGC Nice thought they had done the hardest part, but three minutes later, Nantes reduced the deficit through Touré, who only had to push the ball into Benitez’s net from a Simon corner.
The score remained unchanged despite the second half being in favor of the Nantes team. The Canaries dominated without being incisive and missed the opportunity to move out of the relegation zone. By winning (2-1) at the Beaujoire, Nice climbed to 10th place in Ligue 1, eight points away from the 5th place (European qualification).
The next match will be against Reims next Sunday at the Allianz Riviera. Kick-off at 3 PM.
