From Ventimiglia to Marina di Pisa: Marina Development Corporation (MDC) has added a new step in its expansion strategy in Italy for the development and management of coastal destinations connected to tourist ports.
Today, the company officially announced the acquisition, through the real estate fund “Pisa in progress,” of the area located behind the Marina di Pisa marina owned by the company Boccadarno Village Spa, currently in agreement with creditors.
MDC, which will present the new Masterplan within the year, will be responsible for the new urban regeneration project. The Tuscan coastal area can benefit from a revitalization plan already approved by the municipal administration of Pisa in 2006, but not completed under previous management. It provides for construction rights of 55,000 square meters for residential, hotel, commercial, and mixed development.
Giuseppe Noto, MDC’s manager, after expressing his satisfaction with today’s significant result, stated: “We are convinced that Marina di Pisa and its port are a destination with great growth opportunities, which will bring significant economic effects in the region. Our intention is to enhance the territory by implementing the masterplan we plan to introduce: innovation, sustainability, dialogue aimed at showcasing the territory’s treasures. This is the approach we successfully adopt in Liguria, in Ventimiglia,” concluded Giuseppe Noto, “and we are eager to start working on a project in Pisa with the same qualities and ambitions.”
Indeed, MDC is already the promoter of Borgo del Forte, an urban regeneration project of the Ventimiglia seafront, between the Upper Town (historic center) and the tourist port built by the Ports of Monaco, which will be officially inaugurated next summer.
Borgo del Forte aims to make the well-known town of the western Ligurian Riviera an international tourist destination, thanks to a mixed offer of housing, hospitality, sports, and culture; a unique proposition for Liguria to be built according to international sustainability standards, respecting the territory and its history while meeting new lifestyle needs.
The design of the master plan for Ventimiglia is in its final phase and will be officially presented to the municipal administration in the coming weeks.
