Mathieu Kassovitz’s “La Haine” in a special preview at the Cinémathèque of Nice

Latest News

The film La Haine by Mathieu Kassovitz will be screened this Thursday, March 6, 2025, at 7:30 PM at the Cinémathèque of Nice and the Mégarama Nice Vauban. This preview takes place as part of the tour of the musical show La Haine.

Released in 1995, La Haine left a mark on an entire generation and remains a reference in French cinema. Its perspective on society and its striking direction continue to provoke discussions, nearly thirty years after its release.

The film will be presented this Thursday, March 6, at Mégarama Nice in a restored 4K version. After the screening, a discussion will take place with Alivor. The actor playing Hubert in the musical show, and Farid Benlagha, the project’s producer, will answer questions from the audience.

Regarding this, the show La Haine: so far, nothing has changed will be performed at the Palais Nikaia on April 25 and 26, 2025. The show aims to transpose the universe of the film onto the stage. It combines theater, dance, and music to tell the story of Vinz, Saïd, and Hubert in a different way.

This show offers a modern reinterpretation of the story by incorporating new visual and sound elements. The original text is revisited through immersive staging where dialogues, rap, and dance blend seamlessly. This approach gives a new dimension to Mathieu Kassovitz’s work and highlights themes that remain relevant today.
