Mimosa Against Cancer: An Awareness and Fundraising Campaign

9

The Antoine Lacassagne Center is launching the “Mimosa Against Cancer” campaign from February 3 to 28. This initiative aims to raise public awareness about prevention. At the same time, it helps to collect funds for research and patient support.

During the month of February, several events will mobilize the general public, associations, and businesses. On February 3, sprigs of mimosa will be offered to patients and caregivers at the Antoine Lacassagne Center, the Mediterranean Institute of Proton Therapy, and the Mozart Institute. This distribution is made possible thanks to the support of La Colline des Mimosas and several volunteer associations.

On February 4, solidarity bouquet sales will take place in partnership with the Syndicate of Flower Artisans of Alpes-Maritimes. The funds raised will contribute to the financing of research projects and improvements in care.

On February 15, a prevention and sales stand featuring items in the campaign’s colors will be set up at the Mimosa Festival in Mandelieu. Finally, a mimosa planting will conclude the month. This symbolic gesture will bring together patients and caregivers for a moment of sharing.

A Call for Donations for Research

The donations collected will support two scientific projects. The Federated Pet project aims to develop artificial intelligence to better identify patients who may benefit from immunotherapy. The Target project focuses on evaluating liquid biopsies to detect molecular abnormalities and propose targeted treatments.

Several ways are offered to participate in this campaign: purchase a bouquet on February 4 at the Pop-Up Store Antoine Lacassagne in Nice, acquire solidarity products on February 15 in Mandelieu, donate on the dedicated platform, or promote the campaign on social media with the hashtag #MimosaAgainstCancer.

The mimosa, a symbol of the French Riviera, thus becomes a message of solidarity and hope for those affected by the disease.
