Who says Wednesday says cinema. Today, we offer you our selection of films of the week, to guide you at best in the dark rooms.

1. FIVE NIGHTS AT FREDDY’S by Emma Tammi

The video game that terrified a whole generation is making its way to the big screen. This film tells the story of Mike, a young man troubled by the unresolved disappearance of his little brother. Mike has the heavy burden of taking care of his little sister Abby. After being laid off, he desperately needs to find a job to avoid losing custody of his sister. He thus accepts a night guard position at an abandoned restaurant, Freddy Fazbear’s Pizzeria. Teaming up with Vanessa Shelly, a police officer, he will confront paranormal phenomena as night falls. He will find himself plunged into a real nightmare.

2. THE MARVELS by Nia DaCosta

It’s a return to the big screen for Captain Marvel who, following her victory against the Krees, will have to face unexpected consequences. Indeed, the universe is destabilized, and it’s up to her to take action. During a mission, a vortex from a revolutionary Kree sweeps the super-heroine away, entangling her powers with those of her super-fan from Jersey City, Miss Marvel, and her “niece”, Captain Monica Rambeau, an astronaut for S.A.B.E.R. This dynamic trio teams up to save the universe. They will be called… the Marvels.

3. L’ABBE PIERRE – UNE VIE DE COMBATS by Frédéric Tellier

This film follows the story of Henri Grouès, a man who lived so many lives in one. From being a resistance fighter to a deputy, a defender of the homeless, and a revolutionary, this film unfolds his life to tell us his story. From his actions at the National Assembly to the slums of Paris, his commitment to the weakest and the destitute earned him international fame. Abbé Pierre is the name he chose to lead his fights against poverty, inequality, and injustices.

4. SIMPLE COMME SYLVAIN by Monia Chokri

We find ourselves facing the story of Sophia, a university professor in Montreal who lives the perfect life. Her life is comfortable, her marriage is stable, but the problem is, her life no longer excites her. Until the day she meets Sylvain, a simple man, a construction worker whom the couple hires to renovate their summer house. Will the love at first sight between Sophia and Sylvain last just a moment or more?

5. PIERRE FEUILLE PISTOLET by Maciek Hamela

This documentary film traces the journey of people fleeing the war in Ukraine. Everything happens in a Polish van, which travels the roads of Ukraine, with Maciek Hamela on board. We delve into the evacuation of a country at war, a country where the only refuge for its inhabitants is this van. A trustworthy zone, therefore, where confidences are made, by people who have only one goal: to find a possibility of living for themselves and their children.
