Who says Wednesday says movies. Today, we present our selection of films for the week, to guide you as best as possible in the dark rooms.

1. The Secret of Khéops – Barbara Schulz

Barbara Schulz takes us on a captivating archaeological adventure with The Secret of Khéops. Fabrice Luchini plays a passionate Egyptologist, accompanied by Julia Piaton and the young Gavril Dartevelle, on a quest to unravel the mysteries of the Great Pyramid. This film promises suspense and discovery, combining exploration and historical heritage.

Was Pharaoh Khéops’s treasure discovered during Napoleon’s Egyptian campaign, brought back to France, and then hidden in Paris? 2. Mickey 17 – Bong Joon Ho

Oscar-winning director Bong Joon Ho (Parasite, 2019) returns with Mickey 17, a science fiction comedy starring Robert Pattinson, Naomi Ackie, and Steven Yeun. The film tells the story of Mickey Barnes, an “expendable” tasked with dangerous missions during a space expedition, whose body is cloned each time he dies. Things get complicated when Mickey 17 meets his replacement, Mickey 18, leading to situations that are both comical and dramatic.

A hero despite himself, Mickey Barnes works himself to death… literally! Because that’s what his company requires: die regularly to make a living.

3. In The Lost Lands – Paul W.S. Anderson

Paul W.S. Anderson adapts a short story by George R.R. Martin with In The Lost Lands. This fantasy action film stars Dave Bautista and Milla Jovovich. The story follows a sorceress and a warrior on their quest to obtain the power to transform into a wolf, leading them through mysterious and dangerous lands. The film promises epic action scenes and a universe rich in mysteries.

A queen makes a pact with the powerful and feared sorceress Gray Alys to bring her a treasure that can confer immense power. Alys and her guide, the wanderer Boyce, must venture into the dangerous Lost Lands. There, they must outwit and fight men and demons to fulfill their part of the contract…

4. In the Nguyen’s Kitchen – Stéphane Ly-Cuong

Stéphane Ly-Cuong presents In the Nguyen’s Kitchen, a musical comedy that immerses us in the world of a Vietnamese family in France. With Clotilde Chevalier, Anh Tran-Nghia, and Leanna Chea, the film explores family and cultural relationships through a shared passion for cooking. The catchy musical numbers and exotic flavors promise a delightful cinematic experience.

Yvonne Nguyen, a young woman of Vietnamese origin, dreams of a career in musical theater, much to the despair of her mother, who would prefer her to take over the family restaurant in the suburbs. Will the intimacy of the kitchen, with its family dishes and traditional recipes, finally allow them to communicate, understand, and accept each other?

5. Black Dog – Hu Guan

Chinese director Hu Guan presents Black Dog, a poignant drama starring Eddie Peng and Liya Tong. With meticulous direction and moving performances, Black Dog promises to be a notable work.

Lang returns to his hometown on the edge of the Gobi Desert. While working for the local patrol tasked with ridding the town of stray dogs, he befriends one of them. An encounter that marks a new beginning for these two lonely souls.
