Nice vibrated to the rhythm of the Carnival this Wednesday, February 12. In front of the Carnival House, on Rue Richelmi, 2,500 people attended the Grand Charivari, marking the start of the 2025 festivities.
From the first notes of music and the appearance of the floats of the King and Queen of the Oceans, the carnival magic worked.
Sylvain, a regular at the Carnival, could not hide his enthusiasm: “It’s an insane moment, a good way to start the Carnival with joy and good humor. Seeing children, parents, and grandparents gathered just to have fun and enjoy together is already a success!”
A Colorful Spectacle
The theme of this year, the oceans, came to life in front of the audience. Marine mythology, deep sea creatures, brilliant colors… Every detail transported the crowd to a magical universe.
Dancing, drumming, extravagant costumes: the atmosphere was electric. Children, dressed in a thousand colors, followed the royal procession beating their drums. A moment of communion, where the spirit of the Carnival united generations and cultures.
“It’s fascinating! Seeing young people talk about the environment thanks to the Carnival, it’s a success. They studied the subject at school, and today they are experiencing it for real!” testified Émilie, won over by the spectacle.

A Fervor Announcing a Grand Carnival
The Nice Carnival represents months of work and 1,000 people mobilized to offer an exceptional event. Graig Monetti, deputy mayor, does not hide his emotion: “look at these smiles, these stars in the eyes… This moment is unique. It’s a joyful chaos, but with talent and professionalism!”
The excitement is palpable. The public is present. The 2025 edition promises to be memorable, with already a 25% increase in ticket sales compared to last year.
