
On September 26 and 27, 2024, the Nice Climate Summit will bring together experts and decision-makers at the Palais de La Méditerranée. This summit will highlight the challenges related to ocean protection.
The Nice Climate Summit is emerging as a must-attend event to address the challenges related to climate change and ocean protection. Organized in collaboration with the Nice Côte d’Azur Metropolis, the city of Nice and La Tribune, this summit will bring together scientific experts and political and economic decision-makers from various backgrounds to share their knowledge and explore innovative solutions.
Inspiring Conferences and Constructive Exchanges
During this second edition, participants will have the opportunity to attend conferences and keynotes presented by leading figures in the field of the environment. Among the speakers will be Richard Chemila, Vice-President for Ecological Transition of the Nice Côte d’Azur Metropolis, Nathalie Hilmi, IPCC rapporteur, who will participate in a dialogue on oceanic issues, and Clément Lavigne, Director of Ocean Policy at the Oceanographic Institute of Monaco. Other experts will also share their knowledge throughout the event.
Marine Issues: Debates and Perspectives
The first day will be marked by various themes, such as maritime transport, the coral battle, and the impact of the blue economy on our future. Discussions will explore crucial subjects, like the rise of oceans and its consequences on coasts, as well as the ocean’s energy potential.
On the second day, after the official opening, testimonies and dialogues will address topics such as CO2 removal through ocean-based methods and the role of scientific diplomacy. The day will conclude with the commitment of mayors in view of the upcoming United Nations Conference on the Ocean.
In addition to the conferences, the summit will offer practical workshops where participants can collaborate on concrete projects. These sessions will provide an opportunity to develop strategic partnerships and foster innovative ideas to tackle environmental challenges.
