On April 9th, at 3 PM, the Theatre of Image and Photography presents the conference “An Overlooked Sovereign: Charles-Félix, King of Sardinia.” Presented by Dominique Escribe, this conference is part of the series “From the States of Savoy to Italian Unity,” organized by the Historical Heritage, Language, and Niçoise Culture Directorate, under the initiative of Jean-Marc Giaume, Municipal Councillor, Community Councillor.
Charles-Félix (1765-1831) left a mark on the city of Nice, where he spent two long stays in 1826 and 1829-1830 with his wife Marie-Christine. He became the King of Sardinia following the abdication of his brother, Victor Emmanuel I. His beneficial reign earned him three monuments in Nice, including his statue that still overlooks the port.
