Starting from May 25, the Museum of Asian Arts presents an exhibition at the tea salon entitled “Maïko: Chiaroscuro in Kyoto” by Iris L. Sullivan.
Rich with 15 photographs, this presentation sublimely showcases these very young girls, who are transformed into a fictional woman destined to become a Geiko—a term used in Kyoto for a Geisha—through the art of makeup and wearing kimono.
